"100 years after the Caledon Soviet": Dr Feargal Mac Bhloscaidh / McCluskey (2 March 1919)

In Corduff, County Monaghan, native parish of Brigadista John Finnegan, who was killed in action between Batea and Gandesa, while fighting in the ranks of the Canadian Mackenzie-Papineau Battalion in April 1938, tribute was paid by the Charlie Donnelly Winter School this March 2.

"FINNEGAN John, born 18.03.1909. From Castleblaney, Co. Monaghan. Blacksmith. Emigrated to Canada, landing at Halifax 21.04.1929. Joined Canadian YCL in 1935. Arrived in Spain via Canada 24.07.1937. Missing in action 03.04.1938 at Gandesa, on Canadian Roll of Honour."
