A glimpse (of some publicly palatable features) of the strategy behind the successful 'Better Together' Campaign against Scottish Independence (Referendum 2014).
N.B. The UK had refused from the outset to allow any option of "Greater Powers" on the ballot box. The cynical "Vow" promising such was advanced in the last week of the campaign during the period of so-called "purdah" when new offers were electorally illicit. The tenor of this video suggests that in fact the NO Campaign always intended to wheel the "Greater Powers" proposal in regardless of due process, if the desired referendum result seemed to be slipping from them.
